THE  SUSTAINABLE FINANCE SOLUTIONS TEAM

The Sustainable Finance Solutions team works with leading edge multi-national corporations, development banks, underwriters, and lending institutions. Our services include green/social/sustainability bond second-party opinions, annual compliance reviews, and impact frameworks, among other projects.  This growing team is based in Timisoara, Amsterdam and Toronto.

POSITION PURPOSE

As part of the Sustainable Finance Solutions team, the Associate will contribute to the growth of the sustainable finance market by supporting the Green Bonds team in implementing Sustainalytics’ green bond framework in line with market expectations and industry standards. Key elements of the role will include conducting second-party opinions and annual reviews to ensure alignment of use of proceeds with industry standards and best practices. While the primary focus of the role will be on green bonds, the Associate may also be called upon to support other customized research projects on the Sustainable Finance Solutions team as needed.

Key responsibilities:

Support the execution of sustainability bond second-party opinions. This often requires working on multiple projects across different regions and time zones simultaneously;

Over time, engage with issuers and underwriters regarding framework development;

Develop expertise in sustainable debt financing, including current and emerging trends, issues, drivers, risks and opportunities, key players, best practices, the regulatory landscape, etc.

Develop sustainability knowledge and expertise across a variety of themes and sectors;

Liaise with and develop relationships with colleagues across global teams and offices; and

Prepare well-written and high-quality client deliverables

QUALIFICATIONS:

Excellent English business writing skills (an additional language is a plus);
Passion for sustainability and demonstrated interest in sustainable finance and green bonds;
3-4 years of related work experience;
Degree in related discipline (business, finance, environment and/or social sciences);
Client-centric and commercial approach;
Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn in a constantly evolving and fast-paced environment;
Strong ability to analyze and interpret data, while maintaining a critical approach;
Accuracy and attention to detail;
Ability to work on several projects simultaneously, across different regions;
Excellent teamwork and communication skills;
Agile and adaptable;
Enthusiasm about developing and implementing ideas;
Alignment with Sustainalytics’ mission, vision and values;
Positive attitude, Innovative and entrepreneurial.
