The Position…

The Griffin Centre is currently hiring a full-time Supervisor for our Griffin Community Support Network (GCSN).

The Griffin Community Support Network provides time-limited crisis and transitional supports, to adults 16 years and older. This service is provided through a collaborative network of cross-sector organizations based upon formalized partnership agreements. GCSN is also the access point for all other adult Transitional Support Services (e.g. residential treatment) operated by the Centre. Reporting to the Manager of System Response Services, the Supervisor will assume responsibility for the-day-to-day provision of service delivery for the Crisis Network.

The major position responsibilities include:

  • Supporting staff/teams in the development and understanding of the case management, clinical formulations, appropriate supports and evaluation with respect to accessible service delivery for diverse adults and their families/caregivers;
  • Determining potential service options for individuals needing service and establishing linkages with prospective service providers;
  • Increasing opportunities to integrate treatment knowledge and methodologies between the mental health and developmental service sectors;
  • Assisting GCSN staff, when required, in accessing resource workers to provide outreach and quick response to consumers within all sectors (e.g. mental health, developmental services, forensic services, own homes etc.);
  • Assuming responsibility for the day-to-day provision of service delivery and documentation of such by staff;
  • Providing a high quality of clinical supervision to staff within a productive and inclusive work environment to support service provision to clients with challenging needs;
  • Providing supervisory oversight of staff, including professional development and performance management.

Your Qualifications…

We are interested in candidates with the following qualifications:

  • M.S.W., M.A., and/or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience;
  • Minimum of 5 years of direct service experience with an anti-racism/anti-oppression, community development and adult engagement analysis and practice;
  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience;
  • Strong clinical skills and an ability to apply systems theory and thinking in providing direction to staff;
  • Demonstrated competency in cross-cultural work and ability to support front-line staff in same;
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with cross-sector service providers to respond to client needs;
  • Well-developed administrative skills and PC skills to assist in compiling analyses and statistics for reporting purposes;
  • A passion for work with marginalized adults with complex needs and their families;
  • Availability of a car and $1,000,000 in liability insurance is required;
  • Membership/certification in the appropriate professional regulatory body is an asset.

Preference will be given to an individual with knowledge and experience in supporting persons with a dual diagnosis within the adult sector and experience in the implementation of service plans, which are sensitive to and include the following: sexual orientation, ethno-racial needs, social and life skills as well as behavioural assessment and management techniques.
