Three Streets Housing Co-operative Inc. is seeking to fill the position of housing manager for a one-year contract with a possibility of renewal. Hours worked are 30 hours per week.

Three Streets is a 37-unit housing co-op in downtown Toronto (Cabbagetown).

Reporting to the co-op’s board of directors, the housing manager’s job is to oversee and be accountable for the management of the co-op’s daily, monthly and annual operations.

Duties will include:

  • Managing the co-op’s finances,
  • Ensuring that the co-op meets its legal obligations,
  • Developing and implementing an overall property maintenance and repair program,
  • Developing and implementing a strategy to maintain full occupancy of the co-op,
  • Developing and implementing a capital expenditures plan,
  • Supporting good governance in the co-op by the board and membership, and
  • Supervising part-time staff and contractors.

The successful applicant will be:

  • A self-starter with an ability to work with limited direct supervision,
  • Able to work effectively within a co-operative management and governance structure,
  • Financially literate with strong property management skills,
  • Familiar with computer programs in common use in an office environment including Zoom, Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications,
  • Knowledgeable about Section 95 funding and the laws that apply to housing co-ops,
  • Experienced with rent-geared-to-income program administration,
  • Familiar with the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario,
  • Able to relate to a diverse co-op community, and
  • A good communicator – both orally and in writing.

The expected start date is August 8, 2022. There will be a two-week training period.

Salary is $62,400.00 per year. Benefits include paid vacation (10 working days per year), paid sick leave (12 days per calendar year), paid personal days (3 days per calendar year), flexible work hours, and the ability to do some work remotely. Some evening work is required.
