Payroll Manager

Permanent Full Time

The Payroll Manager will be responsible for the demonstration of the Mission, Vision and Values at work within the Corporate Finance Department located in Hamilton.  You will work as a member of a dynamic team of individuals that provide payroll support to unionized and non-unionized co-workers at Good Shepherd Centres and Good Shepherd Non-Profit Homes. 

Reporting to the Director of Finance, this position is responsible for the timely and accurate full-cycle processing of complex payrolls for over 500 employees using Microsoft Great Plains Canadian Payroll software.  This position is ideal for a hands-on team player who strives for excellence in a fast-paced environment.  The Payroll Manager should have proven leadership and team development skills with an ability to implement enhanced, innovative, efficient process improvements and internal controls.   Integrity and a strong attention to detail are crucial for this role, along with strong communication and problem-solving skills. 

The ideal candidate will, at a minimum, have a minimum of 5-10 years of recent payroll management experience in a mid to large size environment.   In addition, the incumbent should be enrolled in or hold a CPM certification.  Previous experience working in the health or non-profit sector would be an asset.  Fluency in a second language is also considered an asset.
