External Relations & Marketing Coordinator (permanent)

Location - 555 Richmond Street West

(Please note that we are temporarily operating via a hybrid model of in-office and remote work)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute annual ‘External relations, Outreach & Marketing Plan’ to promote YES brand, programs and services to youth, community organizations, high schools and any other referring agencies.

  • Creatively market and co-ordinate all outreach activities of YES to unemployed youth, high schools/ students and community organizations to solicit youth and adult referrals

  • Ensuring YES meets and exceeds its youth in-take targets through outreach, advertising & marketing initiatives

  • Conducts off-site presentations to community agencies

  • Manage daily the development, maintenance, implementation of YES’ social media activity, including YES website, email, Facebook®, Twitter and other emerging platforms

  • Manage all external marketing including all YES advertising, media and the YES social media strategy.

  • Innovative new ways to drive youth in-take numbers and grow the YES brand and reputation to donors, government, media, the public, stakeholders and more

  • Manage marketing budget and completes reports on marketing and outreach activities

  • Facilitate job search workshops in the community & provide promotional support for special events

  • Manages community referral agency database

  • Develop and maintain updated information packages for distribution to youth / community stakeholders

  • Work with the Development team to build the YES brand, reputation, story for donor opportunities

  • Other duties as required

The Candidate

An energetic and enthusiastic team-player who thrives in a fast paced environment. Detail oriented, innovative and a strategic thinker.  Results driven and aspire to over-achieve measurable targets.   A skilled communicator, relationship builder with a sense of humor who has fun at their job while being a good consensus builder.  May have an existing web or Twitter presence.  You possess post secondary education/degree or equivalent work experience and are proficient in computer and social media applications.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Marketing or related field & 3 years experience in promotion/public relations, marketing/outreach

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills

  • Experience managing social media or web-based communications, involving monthly to daily updates

  • Creative self-starter, results-oriented, excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.  Team builder

  • Demonstrated skills in MS Office and desktop publishing

  • Multicultural sensitivity and the ability to work in a multicultural/multiracial organization.
