Executive Director

The Executive Director will report to the Board and will be responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership and overseeing third party management of rental operations and tenant relations. With a growth mindset, the Executive Director will research and recommend development opportunities, secure funding for approved projects, and oversee the construction of new facilities and capital projects.

Requirements

Possessing a minimum of seven years of broad senior leadership experience, ideally in the non-profit sector, the successful candidate will have strong financial and business acumen and preferably have experience in property management, development, social housing, and/or construction. As a proven relationship builder, the successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, and also possess excellent communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills. Experience dealing with funders and government stakeholders is also desirable.

Kiwanis North Shore Housing Society

Kiwanis North Shore Housing Society (KNSHS) was formed in 2016 when the North Vancouver and West Vancouver Kiwanis merged their housing operations. KNSHS provides housing for low to moderate income seniors, and it currently has seven buildings with 634 units and two housing projects underway. Since the merger, KNSHS has been led by a 12-member Board of Directors (Board) who have been involved in management of operations and project development. The current expansion of KNSHS’s housing portfolio presents the ideal time for the Board to transition to a governance board and hire an Executive Director to manage the Society.
