Job Classification:     Full Time Permanent

Regular Hours:            9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday to Friday (unless otherwise required).

 

Meet our next Community Relations & Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Manager.

They report directly to the Senior Vice-President, Brand Experience.  They are responsible for the development and deployment of the organization’s CSR program and brand initiatives as well as the execution of community-based initiatives that support Tridel and Deltera’s commitment to development partners and projects.  Our Community Relations & CSR Manager is passionate about sustainable business practices and contributes to our CSR direction and how we are building resilient communities.

They focus on building and maintaining relationships with Tridel’s new development communities and customers while working in collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.  They are always seeking opportunities for engagement from members within the new development communities and their employees/residents/customers to ensure that Tridel delivers on its brand, project and CSR commitments.

  • University degree in social sciences, public policy, communications, or public/media relations;
  • At least 5 years of experience in community outreach and public relations including community economic development and stakeholder engagement;
  • Demonstrated project or program leadership involving diverse groups;
  • Proven CSR communication and public reporting experience;
  • Strong organizational skills including planning, program development and execution;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills including the ability to present effectively to groups with various backgrounds and interests;
  • Analytical and process-oriented mindset.

 

If you were to come onboard as our next Community Relations & CSR Manager, the following would be your responsibilities:

  1. Proactively engage project communities by:
  • Enabling residents and a range of internal and external stakeholders to participate in the planning, decision-making and evaluation of CSR initiatives and other Tridel sponsored projects as required by brand interests or partnership agreements;
  • Facilitating and maintaining local partnerships, including programs operating in Toronto Community Housing or community amenity spaces;
  • Developing strategies that encourage neighbourhood integration and social cohesion;
  • Coordinating community meetings, surveys, focus groups, individual interviews, door-to-door knocking, lobby events, and other public outreach processes.
  • Making use of communication tactics, including key messages, newsletters, flyers, and social media to maximize participation in engagement activities that support project requirements;
  • Identifying and pursuing opportunities to position Deltera / Tridel as developer of choice within its community and with community-partners.
  1. Manage all community economic development activities by:
  • Leading the development, implementation, and evaluation of community economic development strategies;
  • Chairing and/or initiating neighbourhood tables to address gaps and mobilize needed resources identified by residents;
  • Writing proposals and supporting grant applications to access program funding from a variety of sources;
  • Working closely with BOLT to identify requirements and meet community needs as set out in project commitments including supporting the BOLT team on the corporate and project aspects of community economic development and engagement of new development communities;
  • Creating strategic alliances with local employment partners such as government agencies, local businesses and industry associations, the private sector, key TCHC departments, and social enterprise organizations to provide a variety of economic opportunities for youth and under/unemployed residents in TCHC communities;
  • Participating regularly on agency and organization network tables to advance project goals such as employment and training, neighbourhood integration and social cohesion, education, safety, and service delivery.
  1. Deliver on the corporate CSR strategies and annual plans by:
  • Contributing to the development of strategies and annual CSR plans for the organization focused on enhancing the brand;
  • Establishing and monitoring metrics to ensure effectiveness, impact and social return on investment (SROI);
  • Facilitating internal working groups to coordinate, implement, and monitor the progress on all CSR and brand initiatives involving employee engagement;
  • Creating and deploying communications internally and externally in support of brand and CSR plans as well as organizing related events and activities;
  • Administering corporate giving program in alignment with established guidelines;
  • Developing the annual report, in collaboration with key stakeholders, and ensuring effective distribution and profiling;
  • Monitoring and reporting on progress against plans and metrics including maintenance of appropriate minutes and supporting documentation.
