Sustainable Business Solutions:
In our Sustainable Business Solutions practice, you will work with people who have a broad range of skills and qualifications – accountants, engineers, scientists, management consultants and industry specialists.  You will have the opportunity to work on strategy, advisory, assurance and management system projects in a broad array of sectors including: mining, oil & gas, utilities, financial services, asset management, forestry, retail, consumer goods as well as the public sector.  Working with our professionals means you will be working with one of the fastest growing and leading practices in the country.


The Opportunity:

To further grow our business, the Ontario Risk Assurance practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers is recruiting for a number of positions and has an immediate need for dynamic, experienced Managers and to join our Sustainable Business Solutions team.
We are looking for exceptional candidates with backgrounds in the following:
•Sustainable energy and low carbon strategy
•Sustainability impact assessment and natural capital valuation
•Resource efficiency and resource productivity

Candidates with experience in consulting, including those at management / strategy consulting or technical advisory firms, are encouraged to apply. Positions may be located in either Toronto or Ottawa.


Requirements:
•10 years of progressive, in-depth experience in one or more of the following areas:
oSustainable energy and low carbon strategy:  carbon accounting/pricing/impact assessments, climate finance, energy or climate scenario assessments, monitoring/ reporting/verification, green growth, and/or energy or climate strategy formulation. Specific experience in low carbon infrastructure/built environment and business/industrial process efficiency is a definite asset. This includes experience in providing innovative technical and commercial solutions for clients generated through detailed analysis, technical and commercial due diligence and evaluation of policy and corporate/financial information.

oSustainability impact assessment and natural capital valuation: environmental and natural resource economics, including social and environmental economic impact measurement, quantification, valuation and reporting. Specific experience in the application of science-based analytical methods that include econometric, non-market valuation and quantitative modelling and visualization techniques will be a strong asset;

oResource efficiency and productivity: circular economy services including integrated resource and waste management, resource efficiency and productivity and industrial re-manufacturing. This includes experience with development and planning, waste strategies and their implementation, regulatory compliance, business planning, waste and process modelling and data analysis, and financial modelling and analysis;

•Demonstrated experience in relating sustainability to organizational decision-making, and in translating related technical concepts and information into business insights;
•Advanced degree in economics, finance, energy/climate-related disciplines, natural sciences or an MBA is desirable;
•Ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience and present management, environmental, technical and or public policy forums;
•Proven ability to lead teams and strong project management skills and experience with managing big projects;
Strong proposal writing and presentation skills. Prior experience coaching, training and supervising work of staff
•Flexibility for travel (typically up to 40%) throughout Canada, US and Latin America/global


Responsibilities of the role include:
•Supporting growth of our team through business development and client and prospective client relationship management
•Working as part of a national team
•Project and people management to support simultaneous projects are delivered on time and on budget; managing risk and project economics
•Grow new client service offerings
•Sharing practice experience amongst team members and with clients
•Identifying opportunities to add value to client and projects
•Technical and report writing, review and guidance
•Strong people skills (coaching/mentoring etc.)
