CANADEM is a non-profit agency dedicated to advancing international peace and security through the recruitment, screening, promotion and rapid mobilization of Canadian and international expertise. At its core is the roster of 60,000+ screened experts skilled in elections, humanitarian operations and development work.
CANADEM provides rostering services in the areas of international humanitarian, peace and security operations, serving UN agencies and various governments and international non-government organizations.
We are looking for a dynamic full time Roster Programme Officer for our expanded HQ team.
Applicants must be Canadian citizens or have residency status with eligibility to work.
Duties:
Actively engage in recruiting CANADEM experts to the international field missions including but not limited to:
- Searching the CANADEM databases for appropriate candidates for international positions
- Expansion of the roster capacity through outreach activities, marketing tools and recruitment of experts
- Responding quickly to requests from end users for appropriate candidates and evaluating candidates to create agency shortlists.
- Ensuring ongoing and effective communication/liaison with CANADEM registrants.
- Assisting in the screening of registrants.
- Publicity/recruitment, screening, referral, and liaison between international agencies and CANADEM registrants.
- Developing / expanding marketing tools to create more opportunities for CANADEM registrants (e.g., CANADEM job postings webpage).
- Developing / expanding advanced screening tools.
- Assist in writing project proposals and reporting documents (e.g. gathering statistics).
- Other tasks may be assigned in consultation as per the supervisor's discretion.
Qualifications:
- Flexible, adaptable able to deal with a fast-paced, deadline driven, ever-changing environment.
- Ability to use tact and diplomacy and maintain confidentiality in dealing with sensitive employee and consultant data. Strong and demonstrated attention to detail is required.
- University degree or other relevant degrees combined with professional expertise
- Minimum 2-3 years’ work experience in an NGO, government department, multilateral organization, or other relevant organization.
- Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Suite. Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
- Good cross-cultural communication skills.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and work within tight deadlines.
- Strong organization skills.
- Excellent English skills (French is considered an asset).
CANADEM offers:
- Salary 50,000-55,000 CAD yearly
- 4 weeks of annual leave.
