Hours: 37.5 hours per week, some evenings and weekends, part of on-call rotation

What You Will Do:
The Manager of Transitional Housing (THP) will be responsible to manage the day-to-day operations of the Transitional Housing Program located at 145 Queen St. East. This position will oversee harm reduction housing and case management for 20 units of transitional housing and case management for the follow up worker in THP for people who are experiencing homelessness and active substance use.
The manager will be responsible for direct supervision and support for the THP team to support the day-to-day operations of the program through implementing and evaluating Case Management Practices from a Harm Reduction, Trauma informed, Housing First Framework and a facilitative management model that reflects the principles of community development and fosters service user involvement. The preferred candidate will excel in providing effective services for tenants who are marginalized in our society and in coaching and assisting staff to manage the day-to-day challenges that the tenants and the programs encounter.

What You Bring to the Team:
- Degree or diploma in social services
- 2+ years’ experience supervising, managing, evaluating, training and coaching staff in a unionized environment
- 3+ years case management experience
- 2+ years working with people experiencing chronic homelessness and are who are living in deep poverty
- Thorough understanding of systemic issues which affect low- income tenants
- Extensive advocacy, crisis intervention and prevention, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
- Extensive knowledge of community-based resources
- Proven financial and budget management skills
- Literacy in word processing, spreadsheet and database computer programs
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Extensive experience working with people who are homeless, who have histories of chronic homelessness and/or who are living in deep poverty
- Extensive knowledge of harm reduction and practical applications of a wide variety of harm reduction approaches
- Highly developed ability to plan and prioritize work
- Proven ability to challenge organization, staff and tenant communities in a positive and creative way to effect better service
- Lived experience and/or experience working with people who come from diverse racial, gender, ethnic and cultural backgrounds and who have experienced varying degrees of mental health, social isolation and substance use
- For the Program Manager, Transitional Housing Program, Fred Victor offers a salary range of $67,860 to $74,899.50
- 7% vacation pay
- Generous paid sick leave and float day (for contracts greater than 6 months duration)
