SAFE-T Senior Psychometrist -Research Assistant
1 – Regular Part-Time Position
Hourly Range: $39.47 - $43.58
LOCATION: The George Hull Centre for Children and Families,
Etobicoke, Ontario
The George Hull Centre is pleased to be launching the Sexual Abuse Family Education Treatment Program (SAFE-T) and is currently looking for highly skilled experienced Senior Psychometrists to join our team.
The SAFE-T Program is a specialized community-based clinic that provides evidence-based assessment and treatment services for: children and youth who have experienced intrafamilial sexual abuse; children with concerning sexual behaviours and youth who have engaged in sexually harming behaviours within their families and/or the community. The SAFE-T Program also provides consultation & training and conducts research.
Under the supervision of a registered psychologist, the Senior Psychometrist-Research Assistant is responsible for the provision of psychological assessment services for the SAFE-T Program’s clients and engage in a variety of teaching & consulting activities within the program, centre and community. They will participate in the development and implementation of the SAFE-T Program’s Research and Evaluation projects, thus furthering the goals of the program and the organization as a centre for teaching and research while promoting effective and responsive clinical practices within a multidisciplinary environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in Psychology from an accredited university of recognized standing.
- Required - Minimum of 7 years of post-graduate supervised experience leading to demonstrated ability to conduct psychological assessments for children, youth, and families that have been impacted by intrafamilial sexual abuse, children with concerning sexual behaviours, and youth who have sexually offended
- Extensive experience and training in the use of psychological assessment measures to assess a variety of factors (i.e. mood, trauma, cognition, relationships, and sexual interests, attitudes & behaviours)
- Demonstrated experience in providing specialized training and consultation to professionals.
- Familiarity with current treatment methods utilized with children and families who have experienced intrafamilial sexual abuse, children with sexual behaviour problems, and youth who have engaged in sexually harming behaviours.
- Sound knowledge of child and adolescent development, psychopathology, sexual development, sexual abuse, sexual behaviour, and sexually harming behaviours.
- Proficiency with nonparametric and parametric (multivariate, univariate, time series) statistical analysis, Sound knowledge of research methodology
- Demonstrated knowledge of provincial and federal laws related to the delivery of mental health services related to children, youth and families including individuals involved in the criminal justice system i.e. Child, Youth and Family Services Act, Youth Criminal Justice Act etc.
- Sound knowledge of ethical standards as they pertain to delivery of services (CPA, ATSA, etc).
- Strong oral and written communication abilities, Proficiency in computer skills (i.e. SPSS for Windows, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point etc.)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, excellent time management, and dedication to professional development & clinical education are essential.

HOURS: 18 hours per week including flexible hours and some evening work.
