Your Opportunity
Rise is seeking a special individual who will bring a combination of financial, analytic, and administrative skills to the team and who also possesses strong customer service skills. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), you will play an integral role in our plans to grow our social impact over the next 5 years. We’re looking for a driven candidate who prioritizes attention to detail and is able develop rapport with our clients as they work to build their small businesses and pay back their Rise loans. The Rise Loan Administrator must be extremely comfortable with technology, able to draw conclusions from data and above all, be extremely organized and committed to meeting deadlines. Dealing with concurrent projects and a positive attitude to getting the job done are critical expectations for the successful candidate.

From disbursing loans, to upholding strict compliance and reporting procedures, to working directly with clients who request payment accommodations, the Loan Administrator will be integral to the management of Rise’s growing loan portfolio.  

Finding the right person for the job
This position will serve as a member of the Rise team headquartered in Toronto, ON. However, more important than location, is finding the right person for the job, so this position is open to candidates from across Canada to be filled remotely.

Key Responsibilities
Loan Administration / Client Interface (50%)

  • Proactively monitor client compliance with payment requirements and execute the Rise Collections and Accommodations process for clients who are non-compliant or experiencing payment difficulties
  • Monitor at-risk loans and maintain contact with clients who are in delinquency or payment restructuring
  • Maintain integrity and accuracy of the loan portfolio through meticulous and timely record-keeping
  • Update Rise’s Salesforce-based CRM and external electronic funds transfer system with payment and other information, as necessary
  • Make quarterly write-off recommendations to COO
  • Work with Lending Program, Client Success and IT colleagues to review CRM processes and develop recommendations for improvements
  • Conduct exit interviews at loan redemption and collect client impact evaluation and experience data and feedback
  • Work with the Client Success department to ensure that lending clients are connected with Rise’s mentoring and online community services
Compliance and Reporting (30%)
  • On a monthly basis, provide reports to the Rise Controller on payments received and work to resolve any financial discrepancies
  • Provide regular progress reports on loan closings, modifications, repayments and delinquencies
  • On a quarterly basis, provide the COO with reports needed for Committee and Board meetings, including portfolio risk and delinquency analysis and cashflow forecasting
  • In collaboration with the COO, lead the development of new risk reporting and risk management policies and procedures
Loan Closing & Disbursement (20%)
  • Once loans are approved by the Loan Review Committee or Internal Review Committee, conduct document and identity compliance checks
  • Prepare loan documentation and ensure that documents are fully executed by both Rise and the client
  • Set up loan disbursement and repayment schedule in CRM and EFT
  • Maintain digital files of all loan documents
  • Prepare and distribute the Rise Welcome Package to new loan clients
Essential Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in business, finance or similar field. A combination of relevant education and work experience may be considered.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in a client-centric environment with demonstrated relationship building skills.
  • Strong communications and administrative skills; attention to detail
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and SharePoint, database and data analytics programs
Assets
  • A background working with people who face barriers to employment and financial stability and/or individuals who have experienced mental health or addiction
  • Experience with Salesforce, or similar CRM systems
  • Ability to creatively problem solve with solid judgment
  • Bilingual in French and English, written and oral
