Position Status: Temporary (9 month contract)

Salary Grade: Level C on the MSF Canada Salary Grid, $72,420 per year (non-negotiable), Prorated

Status: Must be legally authorized to work in Canada; MSF Canada is not in the position to support a work permit process for any applicant outside of Canada

Impact Statement

The Procurement Buyer provides overall process coordination for the selection of fundraising service providers. This includes leading Requests for Proposal (RFP) and contract negotiations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, to determine procurement requirements for two major contracts (Direct Mail, Face to Face)
  • Research and identify potential vendors
  • Provide assistance with the sourcing and vetting of vendors
  • Create a strategy and prepare RFPs for the contracts
  • Analyze and evaluate submitted proposals, ensuring compliance with MSF’s policies, alignment with MSF’s principles, while ensuring the best value for money
  • Lead negotiations of contracts
  • Provide other procurement support as required

Knowledge and Experience 

  • Proven work experience as a procurement buyer or in similar role
  • Experience running RFPs and with vendor/contract management
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven understanding of negotiation techniques
  • Demonstrated project management experience
  • Strong analytic capabilities, with the ability to translate analysis and anticipate risks
  • Attention to detail

Education, Certifications, and Languages

  • Fluency in spoken and written English is required
