About this position

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Project Assistant, TRIEC Mentoring Partnership Evaluation provides support to the TMP Evaluation Team to ensure maximum participation rate in data collection activities including surveys and focus groups. This project is part of a national strategy funded by the government of Canada through Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) to evaluate and gather evidence on the most effective ways to help highly skilled newcomers gain their first Canadian work experience in their profession

This is an 8-month contract expected to start ASAP located in downtown Toronto. This role reports to the Project Manager, TRIEC Mentoring Partnership Evaluation Project

Compensation: $42,000 per annum

RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Support

  • Track and monitor survey response rates and provide updates to Project Manager on a regular basis
  • Assist with preparation of documentation and reports and scheduling of team meetings with project partners
  • Assist in managing the mentee engagement process – develop tracking tools, identify where follow-up is needed and follow-up as necessary, etc.
  • Support the project team with focus group activities
  • Respond to project and data related queries and re-direct as appropriate.
  • Provide administrative support to the TMP Evaluation Project and carry out any other duties assigned by the Project Manager, TRIEC Mentoring Partnership Evaluation Project.

REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrated intermediate to advanced level proficiency in MS Office products (including Excel) along with good working knowledge of Salesforce or other CRM or database management software, and the ability to pick up new technology quickly
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ work experience as a Program or Administrative Assistant
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of event coordination and logistics
  • Detail oriented with proven organizational and time management skills
  • A strong team player who takes initiative with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced competing environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – demonstrated professionalism in interacting with external stakeholders, including senior levels
  • Ability to work well in teams and independently as required
  • Awareness of immigrant employment issues
  • Experience with or knowledge of mentoring programs an asset
