Job Description:

As an Employment Integration Coordinator (EIC) with [ACTION] Niagara, you will play a vital role in preparing newcomers for employment and fostering connections with potential employers. You will facilitate employment readiness workshops on topics such as Canadian Workplace Culture, Employment Standards and Rights, Effective Job Search Strategies, Interview Techniques for Newcomers, and Career Mapping for Internationally-trained Professionals. Additionally, you will manage a caseload of newcomer job seekers, ensuring they have quality resumes, acquire critical interview skills, and are matched with career opportunities aligned with their skills, education, experience, and goals.

In addition to these responsibilities, you will utilize consultative sales and outreach skills to generate employer relationships and career opportunities for job seekers. You will coordinate hiring events and permanent job placements across Ontario and facilitate connections with settlement services in various regions. Your role will also involve identifying and addressing job seeker needs, such as transportation costs, work clothing, tools, and other necessities, while maintaining clear and thorough documentation of all interactions and activities. You will report to the Manager of Program Development and work under the direction of the Project Lead.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate employment readiness workshops on various topics
  • Manage caseload of newcomer job seekers
  • Develop quality resumes and interview skills for job seekers
  • Generate employer relationships and career opportunities through consultative sales and outreach
  • Coordinate hiring events and permanent job placements across Ontario
  • Facilitate connections with settlement services
  • Document all activities and interactions thoroughly
Qualifications:
  • 3 years of experience in job development, sales, recruitment, or marketing
  • Experience working with Newcomers to Canada, settlement and employment and/or lived experience as a Newcomer to Canada
  • Genuine passion for helping job seeker clients achieve their professional goals
  • University degree or diploma in Business, Human Resources, Sales, or Marketing (or equivalent experience)
  • Fluency in one or more languages besides English is highly preferred
Additional Information:

This is a full-time position based in the Niagara region of Ontario, Canada. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to accommodate program activities. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of newcomers to the community.
