A leadership opportunity currently exists at Good Shepherd Non-Profit Homes Toronto in the role of:

Director – Good Shepherd Non-Profit Homes TORONTO

Good Shepherd Non-Profit Homes Toronto is a comprehensive mental health and addictions program providing a range of housing and support services for persons who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in the community. The program also operates a Case Management program in North York, a rehabilitative Arts Therapy program in East Toronto, a Trusteeship Program downtown Toronto and offers Nursing and Social Recreational opportunities throughout Toronto. The program receives funding from the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, the Toronto Central LHIN, the Ministry of Community and Social Services and fundraising activities.

In a compassionate, hospitable and non-judgmental manner, the Director is responsible for directing and supervising operations and activities of the program.  The Director is required to represent the organization at various community planning tables and build and maintain strong community partnerships with mental health and addiction services, social service agencies, consumer self-help groups, hospitals and police services to ensure effective service for clients. The Director will recruit, orient and supervise new staff.  Responsibilities include administrative, financial, statistical and service accountability, as well as initiating and participating in evaluation of the program.

Qualifications:

Social Worker or other health professional with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the coordination and management of community health programs. Must have a proven record of collaborative work with health and social service agencies. Must have a proven record in systems planning and data management. Demonstrated commitment to mental health and addictions recovery and to partnerships with consumer groups. A current driver’s license and access to a vehicle is preferred.  Must be willing and able to provide on-call back-up to managers.
