About Us
Everywoman’s Health Centre is an abortion and sexual health clinic located in Vancouver, BC. We are a registered charity and nonprofit society. We are accredited by the BC College of Physicians and Surgeons and the National Abortion Federation. We are governed by a board of directors and employ a multi-disciplinary team of physicians, nurses, counsellors, and admin staff.
About the Role
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Operations Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the clinic. In addition, the OM will cover for the ED in their absence.
Primary Responsibilities:
Clinic Operations and Administration
- Coordinates day-to-day activities of the clinic
- Manages maintenance of the physical facilities and equipment
- Assists in activities required for accreditation processes
- Ensures compliance with society requirements
- Plans AGM
Financial Management
- Assists the board by coordinating fundraising initiatives
- Prepares payroll
- Reviews and reconciles payment information
- Reviews internal financial transactions on a monthly basis including general ledger, income statements, VISA, etc.
- Prepares financial reports for funders and government agencies as needed
- Participates in the annual audit
- Ensures that IT systems are effective and efficient
Human Resources
- Models and ensures a respectful, collaborative, and productive working environment
- Supervises administrative and support staff including performance management
- Ensures adherence to respective collective agreements
- Oversees scheduling of staff and physicians
- Coordinates clinical training placements for clinical learners
- Maintains complete and accurate HR files
- Develops and maintains personnel policies and job descriptions consistent with collective agreements
Work Environment and Conditions
- This position is on-site at the clinic.
- Hours of work are generally Monday to Friday approximately 8:30 to 4:30.
- However, there is an expectation of being available after hours, particularly as relates to arranging coverage for short-notice staff illness and emergencies
Salary and Benefits
- $75,000 - $85,000 per year depending on experience and qualifications
- Also included is a competitive vacation and benefits program including a defined benefit pension plan; extended health and dental benefits; and paid sick time.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree in health administration, business, or a related discipline; Master’s preferred
- Minimum of 5 years related experience with progressive responsibilities; including a minimum of 3 years in a management or supervisory capacity
- Experience working in a health care and/or non-profit environment preferred
- Values alignment is essential: pro-choice, social justice, inclusion, collaboration
- Solid track record of strong execution and logistical skills, including effective time management
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to prioritize competing demands
- Previous experience with and knowledge of women's reproductive health issues preferred
- Interpersonal, planning and organizational skills
- Experience with interpreting financial reports and constructing business cases
- Strong technology skills and experience
- Strong Human Resources skills; experience in a unionized environment preferred
- Excellent communication skills: Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
