Lumenus Community Services is looking for an ECE Lead, responsible for delivering high quality programming for children (birth to 6 years) and their families for the EarlyON Child and Family Centre and ensuring that they meet the funder’s standards/requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement the mandatory core EarlyON services: engaging parents and caregivers; supporting early learning and development and, making connections for families.
- Develop and deliver programs/services that are guided by the following principles: child and family-centred; welcoming; high quality and, inclusive.
- Facilitate evidence-based parent education workshops such as: Nobody’s Perfect, Make the Connection, Learning Language and Loving IT, Kids Have Stress Too! etc.
- Create and maintain a clean, organized, welcoming and inclusive environment within all EarlyON setting.
- Collect appropriate program data/evaluation according to Ministry standards.
- Recruit, train and supervise volunteers.
- Monitor and supervise student placements.
- Facilitate quarterly ‘parent feedback’ sessions.
- Participate in EarlyON outreach and program promotion efforts.
- Participate in the collection, maintenance and distribution of community resource information among all sites.
- Provide updated community resource information/referrals to families.
- Promote and foster the integration of services within Lumenus Community Services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Early Childhood Education degree/diploma.
- Must be a member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE).
- Minimum of 3 years direct work experience with young children and their parent(s)/caregivers.
- Experience working with community partners (i.e. Public Health, Public Library, TDSB/TCDSB, children’s mental health centres, Early Abilities etc.).
- Experience accessing community resources and making referrals.
- Experience working in a diverse environment.
- Experience with children’s music programming is an asset.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of early childhood development including typical and atypical child development.
- Strong program planning and implementation skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills including the ability to relate with parents/caregivers and their young children.
- Demonstrated parent education/workshop facilitation skills.
- Early identification skills.
- Knowledge of available community resources.
- Understanding of child welfare issues and policies.
- Awareness of and sensitivity to diversity/special needs issues.
- Program promotion and outreach skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Boardmaker.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Satisfactory clearance under the Vulnerable Sector Screening process.
- A valid Ontario’s drivers’ license and access to a personal vehicle required.
- Work flexible hours (including some evenings and weekends) and locations as needed.
- Ability to speak Farsi, Chinese, Korean, and/or Russian is an asset.
