Job Brief:
GreenLearning uses STEM-based education experiences to empower youth to solve complex environmental challenges. Our programs engage youth in hands-on learning that develops skills in critical thinking, problem solving and collaboration. Our annual challenges provide the opportunity for youth to apply their learning and skills to create solutions for building sustainable, prosperous and resilient communities. In the position, you will have the opportunity to build the foundation of a new social enterprise and sources of revenue and funding for a non-profit, with impacts that will last into the future.
Responsibilities:

Research, investigate, analyse and make recommendations for an Earned Revenue/ Social Enterprise Strategy for GreenLearning

Work with the Executive Director to write a Business Plan and Earned Revenue Strategy (social enterprise)

Identify potential partners key to the successful implementation of the Social Enterprise Strategy

Assist the Executive Director and Communications Manager to evaluate GreenLearning programs and gather evidence of impact to develop content for funding proposals and reports

Identify potential new supporters in private philanthropy and corporate sponsorship

Create a Case for Support and Corporate Sponsorship pitch

Develop a strong understanding of all GreenLearning programs and develop grant proposals that will generate ongoing support for the delivery of these programs to youth

Build relationships with existing and new supporters

Present recommendations to the Executive Director.

Develop and coordinate multimedia packages that support investment into GreenLearning’s programs on clean energy and technologies, climate change mitigation and creation of a green economy.
Requirements and Characteristics:
-
2+ Years of Experience in Business Development, Fundraising and Revenue Development or related field

Experience with social enterprise, non-profits and fundraising is an asset

Demonstrated commitment to environment and sustainability issues, science education and/or youth engagement

Bachelor's degree or diploma in marketing or business or related field (or one in progress)

Knowledge of online forms and grant systems is an asset

Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines and budgets with business acumen

Excellent written and oral communications

An entrepreneurial spirit and positive attitude

Strong project management skills and ability to think critically

Problem diagnosis and creative problem solving skills

Strong, proven ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment
Salary Range: $48,000 - $52,000/year commensurate with experience
