Employment Consultant, WCG Employment Ontario

As an Employment Consultant, you’ll work with an assigned caseload, and motivate and support clients through employment-specific training opportunities. With a professional but empathetic lens, you’ll manage multiple client cases with the end goal of helping clients achieve and maintain sustainable employment, increased independence and self-sufficiency. You’ll positively contribute to monthly individual and team Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) while managing your workload through prioritization and effective time management.
As a member of our strong and professional team, you will make a difference at the personal and community level by ensuring WCG Employment Ontario clients achieve their employment goals and receive the best support possible.
What you’ll do
- Develop and maintain relationships with community stakeholders as part of generating and managing client referrals
- Conduct regular assessments to understand and document the client's strengths, abilities and skills and other relevant employment-related factors
- Support client’s return to employment through job search training, skill development, work preparation and other activities outlined in their Employment Action Plan
- Assess local job market to identify and pursue suitable employment opportunities on behalf of our clients
- Participate in the hosting of community and employer events
What you bring
- Minimum one (1) year of experience working with a variety of client groups including; People with Disabilities, Newcomers, Francophones, Indigenous People, Youth at Risk and job seekers facing multiple barriers to employment
- Excellent documentation and report writing skills, as well as in professional resume writing and individualized goal setting and planning
- Good understanding of the complex needs of clients who face barriers to employment, including knowledge of the local labour market, job search techniques, government programs and community programs
- Adherence to confidentiality and professional codes of conduct
- Willingness to work outside standard business hours, including in shifts and evenings, when required
- Bilingual (English and French) a strong asset
