About this position

The primary role of the Development Officer is to support the strategic plan of the organization through an organized and methodical delivery of marketing, communication and fundraising objectives.

  • The role will take a lead position in the organization, implementing systems to track metrics and display these to match standards set by Charity Intelligence 

  • Gathering outcomes including testimonials that tell the “ICD Story”

  • Identifying patterns for internal review of programs with the aspiration to improve our service delivery to the public including the staff and volunteer experience

  • Transforming metrics collected into the monthly, quarterly and annual marketing materials required to engage ICD’s prospective and current partners with timely and fresh content

  • Surveying our programs and upcoming initiatives for alignment with upcoming grants and foundations

  • Creating a priority list and efficient plan for success that loops in other team members and their skill sets as necessary

  • Update materials, resources and run the highly visible Diabuddies Campaign as a strong contributor to our organization's financial health 

  • Develop tracking methods for funds in and out of ICD’s empowerment fund, which provides opportunity to youth and their families in the greatest need

  • Review all event materials for consistent times, locations and content

Above all, the ideal Development Officer will be a strong contributor to our team and openly share their work and encourage collaboration from a remote setting with a willingness to get involved where needed. 

The mission of I Challenge Diabetes (ICD) is to support, empower, and connect people living with Diabetes, by providing challenging programs to test the limits of living with the disease, and high-quality services to help them grow and take accountability for their own health.

Our Vision is that all people living with Diabetes will have the skills and courage to face the challenges of the disease and will learn to accept Diabetes as an empowering force in their lives.

Evaluation Metrics:

The role will be evaluated with a growth mindset, looking for:

  • Increased donors, sponsors, volunteers and grants measured through frequency, quantities and positive engagement leading to stronger relationships.

  • Timely and accurate production of metrics, analysis and marketing materials that meet the expectations of Charity Intelligence reviewing criteria for excellence.  

  • Collaboration and engagement of stakeholders within projects to ensure effective onboarding for marketing initiatives.

  • Program growth measured in number of programs offered, surveys collected for quality, lead generation and acquisition of partners and contributions. 

Health and Safety:

This role is primarily office based in an office setting and reviews all ICD policies for workplace safety and confidentiality before taking on activities. Opportunities to support field operations will be provided with event descriptions, roles and event manuals reviewed prior to engagements. 

Summary:
