CATEGORY:               Part-time Position (28hrs/week)  

SALARY RANGE:       $24, 000.00

LOCATION:                 2017 Weston Rd

 

Summary of Primary Job Functions:

The Administrator will be responsible for managing the organizations administration obligations for both sites (WK/MD). The successful candidate will perform a variety of administrative and clerical task that will assist and support the organization’s programs and services.

 

About Weston King/Mount Dennis Neighbourhood Centres:

Weston King Neighbourhood Centre and Mount Dennis Neighbourhood Centre are sister sites serving the Weston and Mount Dennis communities since 2003 as a front-lines drop-in centre and employment incubator. WKNC and MDNC have been dedicated to promoting and developing food initiatives that positively impact and improve our community. Through our programs, residents and community members eat, grow, cook, share, and sell food while making our sites a meeting and connection point in our community. Population served are: people who are experiencing mental health issues, substance users, people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, individuals who are socially isolated, and/or living in extreme poverty; the term WKNC includes its satellite Mount Dennis Neighbourhood Centre.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work alongside the Exec Board/Board President, bookkeeper and management to perform the organization’s administrative duties and responsibilities
  • Assis and support the Treasure and Auditors
  • Accounts Receivables
  • Accounts Payable
  • Assist with the monitoring and maintenance of the , organizations email account
  • Assist with Technical: rebooting of systems in terms of the internet, phone, emails accounts
  • Filing and completing payroll requirements by preparing and submit all program bills and invoices: creating budget and program expenses request and allocating them accordingly
  • Prepare and mail invoices, donor letters, bill payments, insurance certificates, etc.
  • Assist with ordering, inventory, and monitoring of the admin/program supplies
  • Assist with the new hires orientation

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ experience in administration
  • Must be able to navigate and use multiple phone lines and office equipment
  • Knowledgeable with budgeting and payroll systems
  • Excellent communication written and verbal
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in the use of computer programs such as: Windows 10, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel), and Database Management
  • Computer and social media literacy
  • Able to function within a high volume working environment
  • Must have cultural awareness and ability to work within a multicultural/multi-racial organization in a dynamic, community-based setting
  • Must be able to work with individuals who are experiencing or dealing with mental health, substance use or misuse, homelessness, and individuals or families living in poverty 
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Flexible in their working hours and responsibilities
