About this position
The Opportunity
Are you adaptable, service-oriented, and enjoy building positive relationships with marginalized women in the Downtown Eastside? If yes to all, we are seeking a full-time Shift Supervisor, who is responsible for the care of women—with or without babies—in Sanctuary Stabilization Program by ensuring they have a safe and clean place to find both direction and assistance. You will be making referrals for housing, clothing, shelter and recovery; planning and leading program activities; and assisting the women with their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, including providing care for infants when asked.
This is a ministry position and a personal knowledge and experience of the saving work of Jesus Christ, as well as proven spiritual maturity, are prerequisites. If you possess strong interpersonal skills; have 2-3 years of related work experience (specifically dealing with poverty, addiction, and trauma issues); can successfully set healthy boundaries with demanding individuals and those in crisis situations; and have proven supervisory skills to lead a small team, this might be a great opportunity for you.
You will frequently deal with clients in crisis situations, brought about by diverse problems. There will be other staff nearby to assist as required.
This is an auxiliary (until September 2020), full-time position. For a copy of the full job description, please visit our website.
