The Role: Manager, Membership and Donor Programs

Start Date: November 2023 

Salary:  $65,000 - $70,000 

Luminato is looking for a Manager, Membership and Donor Programs to join our Development team. Reporting to the Director, Philanthropy, the Manager, Membership and Donor Programs will grow the newly established membership program as well as cultivate and steward existing donors through a robust and strategic series of communications and special events.   

What You’ll Do: 

  • Devise and lead the overall Membership strategy, ensuring that it is attractive and suitable for the target audience while complementing the strategic direction of the Development program at Luminato.  
  • Cultivate, steward and solicit a portfolio of individual donors, under the guidance of the Director, Philanthropy 
  • Oversee the management of a portfolio of Luminato’s donor programs by providing effective stewardship to current members and cultivating prospects to ensure annual financial growth.  
  • Support the planning and implementation of development events   
  • Lead the acquisition of new Members by developing and executing your recruitment plan including the use of  Raisers Edge, targeted marketing/promotion, events program, communications with existing supporters and social media. 
  • Support the Development Officer with the annual giving portfolio including the development of direct marketing campaigns, solicitations, and providing best in care stewardship. 
  • Manage the Members’ communications by creating and sending out regular e-communications, including invitations, reminders and inclusion of these events on Luminato website by liaising with the Marketing team.  
  • Make strategic use of data to inform communications and renewal processes with the aim of maximising renewal rates (and eventual upgrades).  
  • Work closely with the Marketing/Ticketing Team to identify and plan opportunities to encourage and increase Members’ secondary spend online and onsite at the Festival.

What You Must Have: 

  • Ability to nurture and develop long-term relationships with prospective and current members and donors
  • Resourceful and independent, and comfortable working with shifting timelines and priorities   
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work collaboratively across Development department and entire organization.   
  • Strong analytical skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills   
  • Highly professional; conscientious with a high degree of personal integrity Interest in and knowledge of the arts is desirable   
  • Exceptional writing skills 
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ability to develop and execute complex plans and manage multiple priorities and deadlines  
  • Ability to work with flexibility including evening and weekend donor engagements.  
  • Strong sense of commitment and accountability for the roles and responsibilities of the position  

It Would Be Nice If You Had:  

  • Post-secondary education in fundraising or arts management and a minimum of 3 years in fundraising  
  • ​​​​​​​Experience using Raiser’s Edge or other fundraising databases 
  • Passion and knowledge of the arts community
