Position: Property Manager Assistant
Reports to: The Property Manager
St. James Cathedral was established in 1797 and continues to play a significant role in the life of the City. The Cathedral is both the vibrant spiritual centre of the Anglican Diocese of Toronto and an iconic symbol of Canadian heritage. The Cathedral Centre stands to the north of the church and offers modern event facilities for meetings, receptions, conferences, and more. Originally built in 1909, the Cathedral Centre was magnificently restored in 2012.
The Cathedral Church of St. James is seeking a Property Manager Assistant to support the Property Manager. Applications should be sent to Jim Kotsifas at propertymanager@stjamescathedral.ca.

Summary:
The Property Manager Assistant (PMA) works closely with the Property Manager to assist in the administration of property functions in the Cathedral and Cathedral Centre. The PMA works closely with other departments to coordinate events and daily activities.
Job Duties
Responsibilities focus on facilitating the efficient day-to-day operation of our building and attached offices and event rental space and include:
- Developing daily staff schedules
- Assisting in the directing and supervising of property staff members as required
- Scheduling employee shifts and reviewing hours
- Working closely with other departments
- Scheduling and coordinating Cathedral-related meetings and groups
- Providing direction to subcontractors and supervising work done on the premises
- Reviewing applications and assisting in the hiring and training process
Hours of work
- 35 hours per week
- 3 weeks vacation
Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills
- Computer literacy, including mastery of Excel and MS Word
- A degree or certificate in business administration, property administration, or related field would be considered an asset

Working conditions

Salary: $22/hour
