Summary

The Partner Intervention Program is a domestic violence court initiative that delivers a specialized and mandated community based group intervention for women involved in domestic violence situations and are mandated to attend counselling\psycho-educational group for issues related to abuse and emotions management.
Reporting to the Manager, Counselling and Court Services, this dynamic position requires flexibility in scheduling hours including being able to provide both virtual and in person services. Working within the mandated protocols you will be required to provide the following:

Client Support:

  • Conduct client intake and assessments to determine client eligibility for individual or group counselling.
  • Delivers program through a client centered, feminist, and trauma informed lens.
  • Provide/facilitate in person or virtual PAR groups psychoeducaltional counselling.
  • Provide individual cousnelling to PAR clients when needed.
  • Utilize crisis counselling and intervention where and when required.
  • Conduct risk assessment and safety planning as per client’s needs.
  • Conduct partner contacts as per PAR guidelines.
  • Perform all key functions in relations to group preparation and completion.
  • Identify and advocate on behalf of clients for support and services with internal and external resources.
  • Provide information, resources, referrals and supports to program participants
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of activities, case notes, and services provided to each client.
  • Liase with PAR referral agencies, courts and other community agencies.
  • Provide information, resources, referrals and supports to program participants.
Program Administration :
  • Maintain updated detailed statistical information monthly/quarterly and bi annually as required by funder.
  • Prepare/maintains detailed program information and other reporting data as required.
  • Documents all group activities and client interactions in agency data management system.
  • Maintain client filing systems and correspondence in print and electronically via agency database.
  • Attend all agency and team meetings as required.
  • Develop and maintain all program and participant scheduling.
  • Prepare for monthly scheduled supervision and Annual Performance Reviews.
  • Networks with partners, stakeholders and other service providers.
  • Coordinating all group sessions including space booking, food, transportation needs etc.
Other:
  • Attends all agency wide and team meetings to stay current with agency plans.
  • Responds to telephones enquiries and communicated information.
  • Maintains the confidentiality and security of client and agency related information.
  • Complies with agency Health and Safety plan.
  • Complies with agency policies and procedures.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
  • Must be available to provide evening and weekend programing to women who cannot participate otherwise.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Degree or diploma in social work, community/social services or combination of education and experience.
  • 3-5 years’ counselling and facilitation experience working with women from diverse ethno-cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Strong knowledge working with the Transgendered and LGBTQ+2 communities
  • Strong facilitation skills and client engagement experience.
  • Strong understanding of trauma from a feminist, anti-racist, anti-oppression perspective.
  • Knowledge of the criminal justice system, specifically pertaining to women.
  • Demonstrate good decision-making and problem -solving skills using proper communication channels.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Advanced skills utilizing virtual platforms and Microsoft Suits
  • Bilingual in French and/or any other language is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship management, oral, written communication and organizational skills.
