Youth Research & Engagement Coordinator

About this position

McCreary Centre Society is seeking a skilled, community-oriented individual with strong youth engagement skills to support the inclusion of marginalized and disadvantaged youth in research.

The successful candidate will initially focus on recruiting and training the ninth cohort of the Youth Research Academy, and conducting interviews and focus groups for two provincial projects with youth who have been in the care of the BC government. The position will also require the candidate to share research findings with youth and support them to develop projects to address those findings.

Specific duties include scheduling, note taking, facilitating and creating community-friendly materials.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience meaningfully engaging diverse youth in a trauma-informed and culturally responsive manner.

Salary: $48,724 - $50,500 per year, for 37.5 hours per week. Employees are entitled to health benefits upon completion of 6 months’ employment. Additional benefits include professional development and health and wellness funding, and an optional RRSP scheme.

This position is initially funded through March 2025 and may be extended.
