FT Studio Lead
Creative Works Studio (CWS) is a safe and welcoming community-arts based studio for people living with mental illness and/or addictions, operated by Good Shepherd Non-Profit Homes Inc.
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Creative Works Studio Lead works as a member of a dynamic team of individuals to assist in enhancing the dignity and quality of life in the lives of adults who experience mental illness, addictions and the affects of homelessness within our community. The successful candidate must be available to work Tuesday through Saturday during the Studio hours, as well as some evenings or weekends.
Qualification:
- University Degree in Social Work, Social Recreation, Art Therapy, Occupational Therapy or equivalent plus two years’ work-related experience, particular to persons who experience mental illness and homelessness as well as the arts.
- Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of Availability, Flexibility, Adaptability, Hospitality and Dignity.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative and set priorities.
- CPR/First Aid certification, WHMIS trained and is willing to recertify annually.
- Proficient computer skills including MS Outlook, Word, electronic health record systems or equivalent case management software program, Zoom or other virtual platforms
- Knowledge of Toronto Art Community

- Demonstrated ability to adapt in a fast paced and changing work environment, excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Hospitable in dealings with clients/public / volunteers / staff, and other key stakeholders.
- Respectful and compassionate demeanor with a strong anti-oppression, social justice lens
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in mental health and addictions services.
- Demonstrated arts instruction skills
- Knowledge of crisis intervention;
- Previous experience in marketing, fundraising and event coordination;
- Extensive experience in and knowledge of arts-based programming.
