AGENCY OVERVIEW:
Carizon Family and Community Services specializes in children’s mental health, youth engagement and development, family violence services, individual and family counselling, parental support and education, credit counselling, workplace resilience, settlement support and community wellness.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Director of Community Services, and in accordance with Carizon Family and Community Services Policies & Procedures, this role is to provide organizational leadership in the areas of clinical practice for the Community Services Programs.  In conjunction with the other Community Services Manager, this manager ensures that their assigned programs and activities meet legislative, best practice and professional standards.
Working as a part of a multi-disciplinary team, this manager will have extensive clinical practice experience specializing in trauma treatment and clinical supervision.

This is a full-time (35 hours per week) contract position for approximately one year.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible and accountable for the effective and efficient operations of the Community Services Programs with the other department Manager.
  • Ensure and be responsible for the effective and efficient operation of assigned programs and the achievement of clinical and targeted program outcomes.
  • Contribute actively to continuous improvement and evaluation of services and the work environment to create a healing and learning environment for clients and staff based on living Carizon’s values.
  • Provide leadership in identifying, researching, and communicating emerging trends and best practices relevant to the vulnerable populations served within Community Services; specifically: refugees, the ethnocultural community, children and families experiencing mental health challenges, and vulnerable youth.
  • Provide direct supervision to Community Services Supervisors
  • Provide clinical supervision &/or consultation to members of the Community Services department as needed. Clinical supervision is focused on self-reflection offering staff an opportunity to process the impact of participant and community situations, the development of coping strategies, and professional development.
  • Provide clinical leadership in trauma treatment practices for the Newcomer Mental Health program and communicate emerging trends in trauma informed practices for programs and services focused on prevention and early intervention.
  • Establish and maintain constructive collaborative relationships between community partners within multiple sectors including newcomer settlement, early years, and community mental health.
  • Coordinate service with schools to better serve the mental health of children, youth and their families, leading to development of positive practices and protocols
  • Participate as an active member of the Community Services leadership team to foster collaboration and seamless services between the various programs
  • Represent the interests of Carizon’s Community Services Department both internally and externally and make recommendations for growth and improvement
  • Participate in Management and other Organizational Leadership meetings as required
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED CREDENTIALS:
  • Master of Social Work (MSW) degree, or an equivalent degree, and member in good standing with appropriate regulating college i.e., OCCSSW
  • Minimum 4-5 years of management/supervisory experience in a social service organization
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in clinical practice; a trauma treatment specialization preferred
  • Extensive community based mental health experience
  • Newcomer settlement and mental health experience
  • Solid understanding of the education system
  • Experience working with the population aged zero to six
  • Knowledge of family engagement practices and family focused service delivery

Management Salary Grade C
$30.77 to $37.53 per hour
