Lumenus Community Services is hiring a fixed term (until end of July 2023) Team Lead, Intensive Services within our Day Treatment program. Working collaboratively with the Intensive Therapists, the Team Lead, Intensive Services is the on-site Child & Youth Worker responsible for making decisions related to day-to-day programming and overall shift coordination. They will be expected to liaise with internal and external programs to coordinate client service. You will report in to the Manager, Intensive Services and you will be responsible for a team of direct reports (relief and regular Intensive Therapists as assigned by manager).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversees and supports the team in case coordination in collaboration with the Day Treatment social worker (and program manager as needed)
• Provides support to team members to ensure seamless service delivery in Day Treatment
• Responsible for ensuring shift coverage and meeting service targets including overseeing relief staff scheduling
• Meets with youth as required to oversee collaborative service agreements, maintain program safety and respond to issues related to youth support
• Working with the Manager, Day Treatment liaises with the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) host school, Section 23 administration with respect to site-specific issues and the TDSB transportation and community agencies as required
• Maintains on-site petty cash and program supplies
• Ensures that program data (CYSIS) is entered accurately and in a timely manner
• Coordinates student placement at Day Treatment sites
• Supports CYW staff, program manager and social worker in providing crisis intervention and follow-up
• Organizes own work to meet scheduled deadlines and program demand
• Aligns with Luemnus’ vision, mission, values and strategic priorities, emphasizing learning and active support
• Complies with agency policies and procedures and accreditation standards
• Adheres to the organizational health and safety policies and practices along with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act. This includes but is not limited to: ensuring safe workplace practices, protecting the health and safety of themselves and others and maintaining cleanliness in the workplace
• Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• CYW or Bachelor Degree in a related field or a combination of education and related experience
• 6 years’ experience working with “hard to engage” youth population experiencing mental health difficulties
• Demonstrated high personal work performance and solid leadership capabilities within a mental health day treatment setting.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Superior knowledge of modalities and approaches (collaborative problem solving, attachment, DBT, CBT and narrative) as well as psychiatric diagnostic criteria and ability to apply theory to practice
• Extensive experience in suicide risk assessments and crisis intervention
• Ability to exercise professional judgement in conflictual and stressful situations
• Ability to prioritize competing tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Highly developed interpersonal and conflict resolution skills to collaborate and resolve issues with and between team members, colleagues and other stakeholders in a manner that is respectful and in accordance with the agency culture and philosophy
• Ability to demonstrate and work through a lens of sensitivity to diversity related to race, religion, culture, cognitive functioning, poverty, sexual orientation and gender identity, etc.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Satisfactory clearance under the Vulnerable Sector Screening process
• Valid and current First Aid and CPR certificate
• Valid and current CPI certification
• Work requires travel between different Day Treatment sites; access to reliable transportation required
• Some evening work may be required.
