Position Details: Full-time, Permanent

Salary Range: Starting salary will be $66,100, based on a 35-hour work week. Salary for this position will be commensurate with the successful applicant’s education and/or experience as it relates to the position.

Location: Remote/hybrid in area of responsibility: 1 position will cover the Southern BC region and 1 position in Northern BC/Northern AB region.

What You Will Do

The Manager of Volunteer and Corporate Fundraising (MVCF) is responsible for actively growing DUC’s net unrestricted revenue through corporate sponsorships, volunteer-led fundraising activities, and other initiatives/programs within a province or region. The MVCF’s goal is to seek out new opportunities to increase net unrestricted revenue for DUC year-over-year through a variety of fundraising initiatives.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Identify and develop client specific sales opportunities by collaboratively working with volunteers, individuals and corporations to achieve success.
  • Identify and build business relationships with corporate sponsors, partners and potential major donors within your region as well as volunteers and event supporters for conversion into membership, major gifts and other programs
  • Follow best practices and business processes for data entry. Responsible for maintaining new and existing supporter/donor information to maximize data integrity within the DUC CRM (Salesforce)
  • Produce, analyze and communicate sales, events and volunteer reports to key stakeholders (managers, and executive).
  • Regularly conduct in-person visits, personalized phone calls, and one on one communications with existing and potential donors instead of mass emails to develop relationships
  • Work with the National Manager of Volunteer Fundraising to report on weekly, monthly and quarterly sales activities.
  • Work with the National Manager of Volunteer Fundraising, Manager of Provincial Operations and all other respective business lines to build a provincial business plan, ensuring that their assigned area is operating towards the needs of the provincial business plan.
  • Fostering growth within the assigned region with an emphasis on volunteer recruitment, new chapter development; internal growth within existing committees; identification and development of non-traditional fundraising opportunities and major donor identification and management.
Requirements
  • At least 3 years of experience in event management, fundraising, marketing, corporate and individual relationships and volunteer management.
  • Diploma or Certificate in Fundraising Management, Marketing, Business or related field.
  • Must be comfortable with Customer Relationship Management (CRM), peer-to-peer platforms and MS Office 365 programs
  • Must be comfortable using video conference tools to manage relationships with volunteers and staff across Canada
  • Ability to foster key relationships, proven success in building teams and demonstrated effectiveness in developing skills of others.
  • Proven ability to recruit, retain and mentor people.
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends and travel extensively throughout the territory.
  • A valid Canadian driver’s license is required.
  • Previous volunteer work and fundraising experience with volunteer committees is required; current or previous volunteer experience with DUC would be considered an asset.
  • Previous experience working for a conservation or environmental organization would be considered an asset.
