As we continue to expand our Employment Service programs and offerings, we are now recruiting for two exciting opportunities to join our dynamic team in Hamilton and Oakville:

THE OPPORTUNITY

With the goal of increasing client referrals and developing successful referral partnerships, the Outreach Coordinator markets and promotes the applicable Employment Services (ES) program offerings by seeking out and building strong relationships with local community groups and employer organizations.

THE DELIVERABLES

Success in this position will be achieved through successfully reaching out in the local community. Deliverables include but are not limited to:

  • Seeking out, scheduling and attending community meetings and participating in relevant councils and committees.
  • Actively marketing the applicable ES program and conducting outreach services to the community.
  • Maintains and nurtures relationships with community, employer and collaborative partners while cultivating new relationships.
  • Identifies and establishes placement opportunities for clients and provides information by making initial contact and conducting follow-up with community groups and organizations (Employers).
  • Delivers ES workshops to groups of varying attendance size and abilities using in-person as well as on-line technologies as applicable.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

As an ideal candidate you recognize the importance of employment in a person’s life. You have a passion for helping and supporting individuals to overcome barriers to employment and to obtain meaningful work. Your passion is backed up by:

  • Previous outreach experience connecting with and building relationships with community and employer organizations.
  • Familiarity with marketing, out-side sales, and/or promotional methods showcasing business services leading to increased client referrals.
  • Solid group presentation skills and public speaking, with sound knowledge of adult learning techniques.
  • Knowledge and/or experience serving clients with employment barriers, including disability.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to listen and adapt workshop content to program or client needs.
  • Sound working knowledge of various presentation technologies including PowerPoint, Prezi, YouTube, etc.
  • Well-organized individual, with strong problem-solving skills and self-initiative.
  • Team player but must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be customer oriented, self-motivated with a positive attitude.
  • Creative thinker with interest and insight into local community needs and available resources.

THE DETAILS

  • As a full-time position the work week consists of 5 days per week with 37.5 to 40 hours.
  • The candidate must have the flexibility to work days, with some evenings and weekends.
  • This is a salaried position with a benefits package including health, dental, and vision care.
  • As the role includes periodic visits to community locations a valid driver’s license and full-time access to a vehicle properly insured for occasional business use is required.
  • Goodwill has been made aware that employers and other community organizations we engage with, may have COVID-19 Vaccine mandates for attendance at their locations. Therefor candidates must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, subject to any bona-fide medical exemptions or human rights considerations.
  • The successful candidate will be required to have a Criminal Records Check completed at the Vulnerable Sector level.
