Holding the Accountant role at Reconnect Community Health Services, you are an analytical, thoughtful, results driven and creative individual. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the financial leadership of the organization to support the successful execution of the organization’s strategy;
  • Support the reporting, monitoring and forecasting of the organization’s financial position. This includes using appropriate analytical tools for reviewing financial and statistical information to enable effective decision making. This includes reporting to the Toronto Central LHIN and other funders;
  • Support the financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes to enable the organization to effectively plan, monitor and respond to business risks and opportunities;
  • Support the forecasting and managing of cash flow, including appropriate investment of reserve funds, management of credit facilities and regular reporting on short and long term cash flow forecasts;
  • Responsible for monitoring of the organization’s payroll administration, reviewing payroll activities for any discrepancies and ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited university;
  • Professional Accounting Designation (CPA and CGA);
  • Five to seven years of experience at a senior level at an Ontario health care organization and/or a similarly complex environment/sector;
  • In-depth knowledge of generally accounting principles and best practices in reporting, planning, and budgeting.

Key skills and abilities we are looking for:

  • Superior communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills to work with a variety of leaders across the organization;
  • Excellent knowledge of tools, systems and databases used in financial reporting and modelling;
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and database software such as QuickBooks, Great Plains and the Quadrant payroll software;
  • Excellent relationship building, interpersonal skills and change management;
  • Demonstrated analytical capabilities and superior oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to make and take responsibility for and demonstrate commitment to appropriate decisions in a timely manner.
  • Adaptability to constantly changing circumstances while maintaining a professional perspective.

Special Requirements:

  • Criminal background check;
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, as required;

Reconnect Community Health Services is a not-for-profit health service organization located in the west end of Toronto. We provide services for seniors, caregivers, and people living with mental health and addictions concerns.
