About this position

We are looking for a highly-motivated and effective person to join our tightly-knit, collaborative team. This person will have a strong understanding of nutrition, cooking and exercise and the ways that community-based programs function. They will have a strong understanding of the systems and barriers at play that prevent the low-income participants from leading healthier lives. They will participate in ongoing curriculum development, evaluation and training and be the primary liaison with partner Community Food Centres and Good Food Organizations who deliver the FoodFit program. They will act as a conduit for the flow of information and resources between the program locations and the national organization. The person will work with participants’ own motivation to make common-sense, sustainable changes in their lives that make them healthier and happier.

Responsibilities

·   Manage all aspects of the FoodFit program, including coordinating a small team of coaches and evaluators, ensuring curriculum and other resources are up to date, and evaluation requirements and reporting are being fulfilled

·   Manage partner relationships (including selection, application, agreement, program and financial reporting, collaboration and review process) - carrying a portfolio of up to 20 grantees

·   Train and provide ongoing support to FoodFit facilitators in partner agencies across Canada

·   Track budget and ensure all financial and other reporting requirements for government and private funders are fulfilled [1] 

·   Collaborate on developing and implementing training tools, schedules and supportive resources for onboarding and offering ongoing support to FoodFit partner sites in the area of partner learning and networking

·   Develop new program adaptations and implementation models, and work with development to develop a case for support

·   Contribute to developing progressive healthy eating and cooking messaging and resources to guide CFCC’s programming

·   Create knowledge sharing opportunities online and in-person at annual gathering

·   Contribute to broader team work - administration, communications, evaluation, fundraising and budgets

·   Travel to partner sites may be required

Skill Requirements

Qualifications

·   5+ years of project management experience in community-based / non-profit organizations

·   3+ years of community-based food programing experience

·   University degree in a related area, or equivalent experience (e.g. Nutrition, Public Health, Health Promotion)

·   Demonstrated experience with program planning and evaluation

·   Extensive experience with grant management and reporting

·   Excellent writing and communications skills

·   Experience with budgeting and financial systems/procedures

·   Knowledge of community-based food programs and understanding of hunger/poverty/food system issues

·   Experience with curriculum development or knowledge dissemination an asset

·   Bilingual in French an asset

·   Solid experience with a variety of software, e.g. Powerpoint, Excel, web-based databases
