About the organization:

Luke’s Place is an award-winning centre of excellence in family law support for women who have been subjected to intimate partner violence. We provide legal support services and summary legal services to hundreds of women and their children across Ontario every year and share our expertise with thousands of service providers.
Luke’s Place conducts research to understand the impact of legal and related systems and processes on women’s lives. We engage in advocacy to share these findings and improve these systems and processes. Luke’s Place envisions a family law system that promotes healthy, safe families, living free from abuse and the threat of abuse. 
The Luke’s Place Knowledge Mobilization program provides training, resources, and research on the intersecting issues of family law and family violence. We serve a wide variety of audiences e.g., women, violence against women service providers, legal professionals, legal support workers, policy makers, funders, and the public.


Description

Luke’s Place is seeking a full-time Program Coordinator in our Knowledge Mobilization Program, with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience, to provide professional support to the delivery of its innovative programs and services to women who have been subjected to intimate partner abuse.

This role is integral to supporting the Knowledge Mobilization program. This position is based out of our Oshawa, Ontario office and requires an onsite (in person) presence. The Program Coordinator position provides lots of opportunity to engage in meaningful work that will affect the organization’s impact and reach. This role coordinates the development and delivery of our virtual, in person and online training and legal information resources in a professional manner reflective of our status as a Centre of Excellence.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of resources and training materials related to violence against women and family law 
  • Support administrative and coordination tasks across our training, education and research programs 
  • Support the planning, development and rollout of new programs and initiatives within our non-direct service teams 
  • Support online content management of Luke’s Place websites, portals and coordinate user access for online trainings  
  • Maintain accurate records, provide monthly and quarterly internal reports and regularly contribute to funding reports
  • Support with program evaluation including monitoring audience feedback and development of program evaluation metrics and tools
  • Coordinate in person and remote training events and conferences 

Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Social Sciences (Sociology, Psychology, Social Work), or Humanities or related/equivalent education with relevant work experience
  • Sound knowledge of and commitment to feminist, intersectional, decolonizing, trauma-informed analysis of gender-based violence and anti-oppression values
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the dynamics of gender-based violence
  • Outstanding skills with a range of computer applications [All Microsoft Office Applications, Zoom, Online Learning and Content Management Systems]
  • Proven ability to coordinate projects involving multiple stakeholders within strict timelines
  • Superior time management and organizational skills to create and maintain required processes and meet deliverables
  • Sound interpersonal skills to interface with stakeholders, provincial and national partners, with staff, volunteers and students
  • Demonstrated comfort in the online environment, familiarity with evaluation tools and logistics
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including academic and plain writing
  • Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment 
  • Knowledge of family law processes an asset

What We Offer:
