Hours: Full time, 40-hour week
Location: Victoria/ Langford BC or Vancouver BC
Reporting to: Managing Director, National Sports Organization Services
Salary: Between $60,000 and $65,000, based on experience and qualifications.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Rugby Canada is seeking a full-time, term-based People & Projects Manager to cover a maternity leave. Reporting to the Managing Director, National Sports Organization Services, supporting projects to advance our people, processes and systems contributing to being a leading sports organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Human Resources & People Operations
- Oversees the application and maintenance of HR policies and guidelines, ensuring they remain current with legislative and regulatory changes.
- Manages the HRIS and other HR tools, identifying opportunities for efficiency and improvement. Evaluates system effectiveness and makes recommendations for updates or upgrades as needed.
- Provides guidance, training, and support to managers and staff on the interpretation and consistent application of HR policies and procedures. Manage recruitment logistics including job postings, interview coordination, and preparation of employment contracts and offers.
- Lead employee onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure consistency and a welcoming staff experience.
- Act as a resource for staff and managers regarding HR policies, employee engagement, and day-to-day questions.
- Assist with benefits administration and the coordination of professional development opportunities.
- Lead or support cross-functional projects that enhance internal systems, workflows, and staff experience.
- Collaborate with NSO Services departments to plan, execute, and track progress on strategic and operational initiatives.
- Facilitate project meetings, timelines, documentation, and stakeholder communications.
- Help identify and implement improvements to internal processes and tools to increase organizational efficiency and alignment.
- Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in human resources, operations, or project management roles.
- Proven ability to lead or support cross-departmental projects and process improvements.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to support and influence staff at all levels.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills; detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with the Canadian sport system and/or National Sport Organizations (NSOs) is a strong asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Bilingualism (English and French) considered an asset.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
