About this position

Supporting the Senior Manager, Event Marketing and the Central Run Services team, the Digital Media Manager leads the planning, development and yearly implementation of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure (the Run) website as well as other primary digital communication executions specific to the Run.

The Digital Media Manager acts as the lead resource for maintenance of the current Run website, providing expertise related to the subsequent year’s website, and aligning to strategic objectives associated with the national Run plan. Part of this work also includes an ability to anticipate potential scope creep and proactively address issues internally to minimize risk to CBCF.

In association with national Run communications initiatives, the Digital Media Manager also leads the Central Run digital team in providing expertise on national digital communication tools (i.e. emails, e-newsletters, social media etc).

 
RESPONSIBILITIES:

CIBC Run for the Cure Website
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the current Run website, specific to functionality and a positive UX
  • Lead the digital team in managing any bugs or associated errors and ensure they are completely addressed
  • Lead the assembly of a sound web strategy, design and implementation of new website features and ensure compatibility with existing functionality
  • As lead of the digital team, participate in the strategic assessment, direction, development and implementation of the coming year’s website, ensuring data, research learnings and analysis from current/previous website are integrated
  • Own all website requests from other areas of the business requiring participant/donor/ volunteer contacts and delegate accordingly to the team
  • Assemble and manage personal and team workload
  • Support any requirements for QBCF based on contractual agreements
  • Provide updates to the overall Central Run Team to ensure plans are clear and agreed upon
Run Communications/Creative Services
  • Provide team direction/support for:
  • Graphic design
  • Run-related marketing and communications materials in all media, print, non-print and Run web based executions
  • Any related print management
  • Support design, testing and formatting  of emails/e-newsletters into HTML
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:
  • University degree or college diploma
  • Previous experience in team management
  • Proficiency in:
    • HTML/CSS (ideally HTML5/CSS3)
    • CMS experience (Convio is ideal)
    • JavaScript
    • jQuery
    • Server-Side Scripting
    • MS Office
    • Adobe CS6
  • Knowledge of/experience with:
    • Silverlight
    • Client-Side Scripting
    • PHP
    • Ruby
    • Wordpress
  • Knowledge of online fundraising and special events fundraising, and/or non-profit experience an asset
  • Excellent planning, analytical and organization skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proven problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy
  • Results-oriented with strong ability to follow through
  • A self-starter with a strong focus on achieving desired outcomes
  • Ability to both lead and function independently and effectively within a busy environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Customer service experience essential
  • Bilingual (English, French) an asset
