Working closely with the communications and philanthropy team, the Digital Engagement Officer’s primary responsibility will be to translate the organization’s policy, public engagement, and fundraising frameworks and work plans into engaging digital products and content.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Translate strategic positioning, policy influence, fundraising, and public engagement frameworks into actionable social media strategies, campaigns, and content.
  • Support the designing of social media visual assets (i.e. photo, video).
  • Monitor corporate social media channels and coordinate engagement with our network of followers.
  • Develop compelling, regular email communications for partners, donors, and the broader WUSC network.
  • Schedule blogs and coordinate the regular updating of website content.
  • Regularly report on social media and google analytics, to help identify trends and recommend optimization for digital communications and fundraising campaigns
  • Support the capacity-building of staff and volunteers on social media use.
  • Manage the WUSC photo and video asset database.

Qualifications

  • University degree in a related field
  • Knowledge of social media tools, trends, and best practices essential
  • Knowledge of websites and content publishing (e.g. Wordpress, HTML) essential
  • Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office, Google Suite) essential
  • Basic design and video-editing skills (e.g. Adobe Creative) a strong asset
  • Experience working for a non-profit and/or in international development preferred
  • Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of WUSC
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Must be motivated, creative, hardworking, optimistic, and a team player
  • Must be available for occasional weekend and evening work. Time in lieu will be provided.

Languages: English and French required
