Job Description
The Corporate Responsibility Consultant implements CR strategies, policies and programs aligned with the Company’s business objectives and priorities. The CR Consultant works closely with local and global CR stakeholders to manage, grow and elevate the Company’s commitment to CR. The CR Consultant also works the internal Communications team and external agencies to advance the Company’s internal and external reputation with respect to CR.
Corporate Responsibility covers such areas as:
- Outstanding corporate citizenship in the community
- A top-notch workplace and engaged workforce
- Ethical professional and legal standards of business conduct
- Execute the following in regards to Take Back Our Roads platform:
- Ensure mutually effective and productive relationships with our road safety partners to deliver community impact and improve customer, broker and employee consideration.
- Oversee the delivery of multi-year partnerships, including day-to-day partnership management, achievement of project objectives and deliverables, supporting regional/national projects and activations, obtaining impact measurement reports and scheduling regular review meetings.
- Lead discussions with potential road safety partners/collaborators including municipalities, charities, non-profits and other coorporations.
- Support development of communications to tell a cohesive and compelling story both internally and externally on owned channels (website and social media channels), PR and paid media.
- Oversee and maintain Take Back Our Roads website, ensuring it remains relevant and up-to-date, including creative and copy development.
- Act as the primary point-of-contact for strategy and creative agencies (e.g. No Fixed Address).
- Support development and delivery of Take Back Our Roads related employee engagement opportunities to boost volunteering and create greater awareness of strategy, including leading delivery of skill-based volunteering initiatives.
- Collect and report upon parter/Aviva specific KPIs for social impact measurement purposes, as well as overall Canadian and global reporting (e.g. Annual Report, Public Accountability Statement)
- Regularly research and stay abreast of latest news/developments and innovations in the road safety space, both locally and on a global level.
- Measure, analyze and key CR KPIs and performance on a mid-year and year-end basis; contribute to global CR report and annual Public Accountability Statement.
- Deepen Aviva’s understanding of the expectations of customers, employees, brokers and broader society concerning responsible corporate citizenship.
- Administer corporate payments to partner charities/organizations, as needed.
- Review and repond to sponsorship requests, as needed.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to communicate our CR activities to the local market, global Aviva group and external audiences while supporting our brand.
- Assess, prioritize, monitor and report on potential challenges, risks and opportunities with respect to CR regularly.
- Monitor and analyze the CR strategies policies and programs of other financial services companies; research, share and work with internal stakeholders to implement best practices.
- Represents the Company in relevant outside events and venues.
- Implement CR strategies, policies and programs that meet or exceed defined CR KPIs. These implementations include:
- CR standards and guidelines
- CR policies and programs
- Charitable contributions and sponsorships
- Employee engagement and participation initiatives
- Reporting
- Success in strengthening Company’s brand reputation and CR profile internally and externally.
- Form effective and mutually beneficial relationships with internal stakeholders, community influencers, broker partners, charitable organizations and employees.

- Global Insurance Organization
- Min. 5-7 years Corporate Responsibility related experience, with prior experience in developing or implementing a Corporate Responsibility or related program.
- Min. 5 years project management experience
- Min. 5 years experience as a communications practitioner.
- Min. 3-5 years employee enagement experience.
- Financial services experience an asset
