About this position

The Coast to Coast Against Cancer Foundation Brand & Communications Manager will develop and drive strategic plans for all fundraising, marketing and communications initiatives for the foundation as well as all supporting signature event portfolios.  The B&C Manager will manage a coordinator as well as work closely with other members of the foundation to ensure brand and messaging consistency.  Participant recruitment, fundraising revenue and community engagement are a few of the key performance indicators for this role.

Signature events in the foundation’s portfolio include Tour for Kids (markets are Ontario, Alberta and Nova Scotia), the National Kids Cancer Ride, Tour d’Epicure (markets are Niagara Region and Okanagan), and the Inside Ride Event Program.  The foundation also aids in the execution of several third-party events that have selected Coast to Coast Against Cancer Foundation as its beneficiary.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the planning, analysis and business strategy of Coast to Coast Against Cancer Foundation providing input into processes, administration & program implementation
  • Own and develop overarching strategy for the foundation and its events; fundraising, marketing & communications planning
  • Manage and consult with external vendors/stakeholders to ensure tactics are being implemented on time while adhering to brand/event guidelines
  • Build and grow meaningful and effective relationships with event participants by providing excellent customer service (via social media, phone conversations, email, letters, etc)
  • Support sponsorship sales by providing messaging, tools and onsite management
  • Identify opportunities to collaborate with donors to maximize fundraising growth
 
  • Work collaboratively with Event Managers to build strong stakeholder relationships ensuring successful event outcomes
  • Manage all creative direction for the foundation and each event proper (working closely with the Event Managers to ensure timelines and budgets are adhered to)
  • Lead and mentor the Brand & Communications Coordinator providing constructive feedback in the implementation of all tactics
  • Develop and lead Foundation-level and event-specific stewardship plans
 
  • Event-week support (stage management, logistics, etc)
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years experience in a Fundraising, Non-Profit Management, Event Management, Project Management or another related field
  • New business development and/or business planning experience is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing
  • Relationship management sills, with the ability to understand and respond to various levels of expectations from diverse stakeholders
  • Strong project management skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects, timelines and deadlines simultaneously
  • Superior written and oral communication skills
  • Display sound decision-making and judgment
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, creativity and flexibility in the workplace
