About this position
The Vancouver Police Foundation (VPF) was created 40 years ago with a clear purpose: to fund crime prevention programs that are above and beyond the annual operating budget of the Vancouver Police Department (VPD). Since then, thanks to the support of the citizens and businesses of Vancouver, the VPF has granted over $7.5 million towards more than 150+ innovative programs – initiatives that have helped the VPD save lives and prevent crime. The mission of the VPF is to promote alternative funding to inspire innovative community partnerships with the VPD. These partnerships enhance public safety, foster professional development and fund unique neighborhood initiatives to help make Vancouver the safest major city in Canada.
This is a unique opportunity to lead a Foundation dedicated to enhancing public safety and community policing efforts in Vancouver. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will create and articulate a long-term vision that captures the passion of the organization and creates a direction that the Board, staff, donors, funders and policing community who rely on VPF will embrace. The ED will have a strong focus on stakeholder relations, representing VPF’s interests to community organizations, funders, donors, and the general public.
The ideal candidate will be a passionate leader, capable of successfully creating and articulating a vision to enhance the impact of the VPF in the community. Having outstanding interpersonal and communications abilities, this person will bring a track record of success in working with donors and developing fundraising initiatives that will benefit the organization. An exceptional leader, he/she has a solid record of working with a Board of Directors, members and volunteers to drive and achieve ambitious goals for the organization. Thoughtful and innovative in his/her thinking, the ED is thoroughly committed to the VPF mission and is passionate about policing and the community.
This is an exceptional opportunity to enhance your professional career by making a difference. If this is the right time for you to join a very worthwhile organization, please visit our website and submit your application to Shelina Esmail and Jennifer Madden at www.pfmsearch.com.
