Walk-In Counselling Clinic Counsellor - RELIEF
The successful candidate(s) will be responsible for direct service provision, on a RELIEF basis within our Walk In Clinic.
Here’s what you get to do:
- Provide counselling to clients during walk-in hours, 2 – 8 p.m. (Mondays and Tuesdays)
- Provide referrals to help clients’ access relevant community services when needed
- Ensure quality client care that is consistent with best practices, agency standards, and evidence-based approaches (particularly brief, narrative, and solution-focused therapies)
- Maintain necessary documentation and case records
- Deliver Solution Focused Brief Therapy, single session walk-in counselling to children, adolescents, youth and their families
- Assess levels of risk and develop plans accordingly using community-based interventions and medical services
- Collaboratively work with a team of professionals dedicated to providing timely service to children, youth and families, when and as they need it.
This is what you will need:
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counselling Psychology or equivalent
- Membership in a professional regulatory association
- Minimum of 3 years direct service experience, preferably within children’s mental health
- Demonstrated experience working within a brief services/single session therapy model
- Knowledge of community resources
- Familiarity with a range of evidence-based treatment modalities including SFBT and CBT
- Demonstrated experience working with children/youth from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to work flexible hours according to program need
- Cross-cultural experience an asset
