Working with the Director, Strategic Communications, the position plays an important role in creating and managing impactful communications across multiple platforms to elevate Children Believe’s brand equity and ensure brand alignment. While the role resides in the Fund Development & Communications (FDC) team, the position sources, writes, edits, proofreads and packages editorial content for multiple function area needs, including the executive office, together with colleagues across all 7 locations. A key focus is sourcing and producing field impact stories and ensuring the organization produces brand-aligned, professional quality content. The position works collaboratively and cross-functionally to manage accurate and timely communications output from all offices. This individual curates, manages and implements the FDC content calendar in support of brand alignment and revenue generation, works with the executive office and Programs & Policy (P&P) to support their editorial content needs, and supports the Influence strategic priority. The manager integrates content with cross-functional departmental work plans for engagement.
This role includes, but is not limited to:
- Source, write, edit, proofread and package content for various FDC, executive office, programs & policy and other function area needs together with colleagues across all 7 Children Believe locations
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders across all offices to deliver on initiatives
- Travel internationally (as travel advisories allow) to the field to gather multipurpose original content and help country offices to enhance their ability to create and share engaging content
- In support of FDC and other function area needs, independently source relevant content
- Package impact and success stories from the field for multiple uses
- Curate and implement the FDC content calendar in support of brand alignment, revenue generation, the Influence strategic priority, executive office and P&P needs
- Integrate content calendar with cross-functional departmental work plans for engagement to drive business results based on knowledge of segment needs, strong collaboration with internal and external partners, and shared goals and accountability
- Execute communications and other functions for print and digital content in in support of the mission and development
- Deliver on clear metrics for success, as well as agendas to measure effectiveness and continually refine/optimize
- Source images and video
- Manage key internal communications initiatives
The ideal candidate possesses:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or Business
- Minimum 5 years’ proven results achieved in developing and editing compelling editorial content
- High editorial literacy and hands-on experience creating, updating, repurposing, editing and proofreading content
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and supportively within a team and forge positive relationships
- Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with team members and vendors
- Expertise in managing content and vendor relationships
- Experience in developing and managing communications, marketing and/or corporate communications plans
- Project management experience, including planning, budgeting, monitoring and analysis
- Strong Microsoft computer skills
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- Well organized and thrives in a changing environment with multiple priorities
- Detail oriented
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Ability to travel locally, nationally and internationally (as travel advisories allow)
- Ability to speak and/or write in either French or Spanish will be considered an asset
