Employer Liaison (Job Developer) Positions

ACCES Employment is a leader in connecting employers with qualified employees from diverse backgrounds. More than 35,000 job seekers are served annually at six locations across the Greater Toronto Area. We deliver a range of customized employment programs both online and at our locations across the GTA which focus on connecting our clients with meaningful employment opportunities. This position is mainly responsible for the creation of employment opportunities for ACCES clients. The individual in this position works with the ACCES Employment Consulting team, and will work closely with all community partner agencies and employers.

1. Employer Liaison - Employment Ontario 
     Location - York Region (Newmarket, Markham)
     Job Status - Unionized
     Contract Duration - 1 year with possibility of extension

2. Employer Liaison - Employment Ontario
     Location - Toronto
     Job Status - Unionized
     Contract Duration - to April 31, 2020 with possibility of extension

4. Employer Liaison - Engineering Connections
     Location - North York 
     Job Status - Unionized
     Contract Duration - to April 31, 2020 with possibility of extension
     *Experience working in the engineering sector or with engineering clientele is an asset

All Salary - $52,865.67 per annum (as per Union salary grid), prorated to contract duration

 

EMPLOYER LIAISON

Employer Liaisons at ACCES network with employers to identify opportunities and make connections for job seekers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement marketing and outreach strategy to employers
  • Liaise with community professionals and employers to create competitive jobs and employment opportunities
  • Monitor all placements, oversee training plan development and conduct on-going follow-up to ensure successful employment outcomes for program participants
  • Integrate work with all ACCES staff, in particular with Employment Consultant teams
  • Facilitate employment preparation, networking strategies, employability sessions, and individual resource centre support when required
  • Provide culturally sensitive employment services in person and/or online, including intake and assessment, one-to-one and group employment counselling and referrals when required
  • Arrange job fairs and networking events
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Business Degree or equivalent
  • 3 or more years’ experience in job development, employer outreach, employment counseling and/or recruitment
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct outreach/marketing of clients and services to employers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and self-management skills to work effectively with clients, co-workers, outside agencies and employers
  • Understanding of labour market information and trends
  • Experience in the not-for-profit sector and/or employment sector is preferred
  • Experience in business development, sales and B2B recruitment is considered an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to work and co-operate in a team
  • Strong organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Strong networking and engagement skills
  • Strong computer skills and experience working in an Microsoft Office environment; familiarity with internet and databases
  • Experience working with internationally trained professionals, new immigrants and sector specific employers is preferred
  • Flexible to work occasional evenings and weekend hours
  • Use of own vehicle is an asset to the job; travel will be required between ACCES sites and for conducting outreach
