The North Shore ConneXions Society (NSCS or Connexions) is a well funded and recognized community leader. For over 60 years, Connexions has been providing exceptional support to children and adults with intellectual disabilities on the North Shore of Metro Vancouver. Its 11 group homes and numerous programs and services, such as supported employment and family respite, are delivered by 220 committed staff and over 90 contractors. This deeply meaningful work enables their vision: ”a world where all people with disabilities have equal opportunities to lead active, fulfilling lives and are recognized as contributing members of the community.”
Reporting to the Board of Directors, and leading the management team, the Executive Director is responsible for delivering on key priorities outlined in the Strategic Plan such as generating new fundraising models, increasing community awareness, providing more sophisticated board governance, and increasing community participation through new programs and services.
The ideal candidate brings a track record of success in an executive leadership role in a not-for-profit organization, ideally that delivers programs and services with parallels to Connexions such as community social services. An outstanding people leader, the preferred candidate will be a consensus builder, capable of fostering a culture of trust and integrity. The preferred candidate brings Executive Director or COO experience, developing and implementing strategy, and has the proven expertise to elevate board reporting and internal operations through the adoption of business processes and structure.
