Summary

The Program Manager- Under the direction of the Executive Director, is responsible for the organization, development, and management of Gateway Residential & Community Support Services of Niagara Inc.'s programs and services, including personnel, materials, productivity and quality of work. The Manager is expected to ensure that all consumers are receiving the required care and that all required policies and procedures are being followed in accordance with applicable legislation and Gateway Residential & Community Support Services of Niagara Inc.’s mission statement.

Job Duties

  • Direct supervision to program Team leads and Intake team, which includes assigning caseloads, mentoring Team leads, and conducting objective and constructive performance appraisals
  • Responsible for the overall management of the program which includes; day to day operations, development, planning, and community liaison.
  • Ensuring all program compliance and reporting requirements are completed in an appropriate time frame
  • Address program issues / concerns as they arise.
  • Management of crisis and critical incidents to satisfactory resolution including support, debriefing and the completion of appropriate reports  
  • Ensure information and documentation is maintained, disclosed and transmitted in accordance with relevant legislation and Ministry guidelines
  • Select train, motivate direct reports
  • Provide or coordinate training and mentorship in conjunction with the director of Human Resources
  • Work collaboratively with the management team to provide effective and visible leadership to the agency
  • Build and maintain sustainable relationships with staff, management, volunteers, students, community partners, clients, and families.
  • Partnership development, networking and partnering with other funded agencies and private sector companies to support the agency strategic plan and goals.
  • Collaborate with various Gateway Residential & Community Support Services of Niagara Inc.’s departments and programs
  • Participates in the establishment or revision of policies and procedures, guidelines, goals and objectives for Gateway Residential & Community Support Services of Niagara Inc.
  • Work in conjunction with Finance manager to ensure all program budgets requirements are met
  • Assists the Executive Director with program planning, implementation and evaluation activities
  • Develop proposals, policies and procedures, recommend and provide input the management team.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work or other relevant area of study is preferred. Other degrees will be considered with relevant skills and experience.
  • Understanding of the Mental Health and Homelessness Service delivery system which includes, mental health, addictions and homelessness
  • 3-5 years' Program Management, or similar, experience preferred
  • Good understating of Office 365, Teams and operating systems
  • Demonstrated ability to courteously and respectfully assist clients, family members and the community with genuine care and concern while upholding and preserving their privacy
  • Excellent teamwork and team building skills
  • Sound leadership, staff management, and teambuilding skills
  • High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing

Work Conditions

  • Interacts with employees, management, volunteers and the public at large
  • Overtime may be required 
  • May be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including exposure to the AIDS, COVID 19 and hepatitis viruses
  • Interacts with residents, family members, staff, visitors, government agencies/personnel under all circumstances, which may be traumatic situations
  • Travel may be required
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
